R3lic

R3LIC is the turntablist / DJ project of North Georgia native Phillip Stansell.

He specializes in scratching over experimental bass music, while adding a nostalgic flair with acapellas in a style called "left field hip hop". He's been teaching himself the art of scratching and DJing since 2019. Finding inspiration from the second generation of vinyl scratch artists, mainly DJ Angelo and Rob Swift, he combines techniques of contemporary mixing similar to The Widdler and Mersiv. His old meets new style adds a layer of complexity often lost in modern DJ sets.

R3LIC has shared the stage with the likes of Salty, JuJu Beats, Xenotype, Ployd, SHAKTi SOUND, Dough.Jo, BrothaBurks, and more gifted local artists. He is largely undiscovered and has dedicated the past few years to bettering his craft rather than on getting booked. He has begun expanding his audience in the southeast this year and has generated quite the buzz in Chattanooga.
